Fantasy Football Week 15 Quarterback Rankings

Fantasy Football Week 15 Quarterback Rankings
1. Kurt Warner (ARI) – He is the most consistently productive fantasy QB in the NFL. Even on his worst day this season, Warner was solid. We see know reason why that trend will come to a halt in week 15 against the Vikings. While Minnesota’s run defense is about as solid as they come, they are fairly mediocre against the pass, ranking just 20th in the NFL in that respect. Warner should be great once again on Sunday at home.

2. Peyton Manning (IND) – In recent weeks, teams facing the Lions have chosen to lean heavily on the run, and with good reason, but it has negatively affected the fantasy potential for the respective QB’s facing them. We doubt that this trend will have much, if any, affect on Manning. With a struggling and beat up Joseph Addai, it only makes sense that the Colts will throw the ball early and often in this match up. Besides, it isn’t like Detroit’s secondary is top shelf. In fact the Lions pass defense is almost as pathetic as their run defense. Regardless, Manning makes for a great fantasy start in week 15.

3. Aaron Rodgers (GB) – In his last 4 games, he has accumulated 10 total TD’s (9 passing, 1 rushing) and no less than 227 passing yards. Rodgers should continue to light it up in week 15 against a fairly generous and undermanned Jaguars secondary. Jacksonville has allowed 21 passing TD’s so far this season tying them for 3rd most in the NFL. In addition, they will be without their best cover CB Rashean Mathis who is out for the season with a knee injury.

4. Jay Cutler (DEN) – At one point this season, the Carolina pass defense provided opposing QB’s with a formidable challenge, but here lately, they can’t stop anyone. In their last 2 games, the Panthers have allowed 619 passing yards and 5 TD passes with just 1 interception. They were even torched by the typically quiet, yet efficient, Jeff Garcia on Monday night. This should be good news for Jay Cutler who has been just the opposite in his last 2 games. Considering the Broncos are way down the depth chart with regard to RB’s, the Denver passing game will be vital to their success. Cutler should throw early and often, and the way the Carolina secondary has been playing lately, fantasy owners should be pleased with the results.

5. Phillip Rivers (SD) – While Rivers has produced monster fantasy efforts sporadically throughout the season, we were not expecting him to light up an Oakland secondary that had been on fire shutting down several quality passing attacks prior to this meeting. The fact of the matter is that Rivers is a tough guy to gauge. As soon as you write him off, he will explode, and as soon as you think he is going to come up big, he implodes. For that reason, he is never a sure thing against any opponent, but you have to like his chances against a terrible Kansas City pass defense in week 15. The Chiefs rank just 29th in the NFL against the pass and Rivers was able to throw for 316 yards and 2 TD’s against them only a few short weeks ago. The weather in Kansas City on Sunday is not expected to be ideal, so that could play a factor, but otherwise Rivers is a great start.

6. Tyler Thigpen (KC) – After going on a tear, Thigpen has since cooled off the last couple of weeks. He hasn’t been terrible during that span, but he hasn’t exactly been great either. We like his chances to finally get back on track in week 15 with a very favorable match up against San Diego at home. The Chargers pass defense ranks 30th in the NFL and can best be described as terrible on many levels. In a week 10 meeting at San Diego, Thigpen lit the Chargers up for 292 total yards, 3 TD’s, and no interceptions. The only thing that may hamper his attempt at a similar performance would be poor weather conditions which are a real possibility for KC on Sunday based on early reports.

7. Donovan McNabb (PHI) – Ever since he was benched in week 12, McNabb has performed on a much higher level. This is a trend that should continue into a promising week 15 match up against a suspect Cleveland pass defense. The Eagles are still battling for a spot in the playoffs so McNabb should be at the top of his game. At the very least, he should put up solid numbers at home against the struggling Browns on Monday night.

8. Tony Romo (DAL) – While a week 15 match up against a very solid Giants pass defense at home may prove difficult, it should be a cake walk in comparison to the Steelers defense Romo faced on the road last week. Don’t get us wrong, this is still a risky match up for the talented signal caller, but there are a couple of trends in Romo’s favor. For one, he has thrown for no less than 3 TD passes in any of his 5 starts at home this season. Granted, none of those games were against the quality of defense he will face this week, but this stat is promising none the less. Secondly, Romo has an excellent track record against the G-Men. He threw for 4 TD’s in each of his 2 games against the eventual Super Bowl champs last season. He isn’t the safest bet as a week 15 starting fantasy QB, but we like his chances.

9. Shaun Hill (SF) – In spite of his stellar play, Hill continues to fly low on the fantasy radar. Since taking over as the 49ers starting QB, he has yet to go a single game without throwing at least 1 TD pass. In fact, he has thrown at least 2 TD passes in 4 of his last 5 starts. He should be able to continue his outstanding play with a favorable week 15 match up against Miami. The Dolphins rank 21st in the NFL against the pass in addition to ranking near the bottom in pass plays allowed over 20 yards with 40. Hill should be solid with this match up.

10. Matt Cassel (NE) – Due to the untimely and unfortunate death of his father, Cassel’s status for Sunday’s game against Oakland is uncertain. Even if he chooses to play it is a very difficult match up to evaluate in terms of fantasy. Just a couple of weeks ago, this would have been billed as a big time match up as Cassel and the Raiders pass defense were both playing as well at an elite level, but since that time, both have stumbled badly. Our best guess is that Cassel will come out on top against Oakland, but this match up is still risky for him to say the least. Brett Favre put up monster numbers following his father’s death a couple of years ago, but everyone handles these situations in their own way. Football has its place, but it’s far more important that Cassel is able to get through this difficult time as a human being. We hope he can do that. We will update his status as soon as we know something. UPDATE: Cassell practiced on Thursday and is expected to play on Sunday.

11. Eli Manning (NYG) – The last time he faced the Cowboys in week 9, Manning only managed to pass for 147 yards, but he more than made up for it by throwing 3 TD passes. Over the years, Manning has had very mixed results against Dallas which is not surprising considering he is hit or miss against virtually everyone he faces. For that reason it is difficult to know exactly what to expect from him this time around. The Dallas secondary has been very solid of late and their fierce pass rush has yielded an NFL leading 45 sacks. Manning is an extremely capable fantasy QB against anyone, but in our opinion, this match up presents plenty of risk.

12. Jason Campbell (WAS) – For the most part, Campbell has put fairly mediocre fantasy numbers throughout the season. In his defense, he has faced some brutal match ups, especially in recent weeks. Fortunately, he should get some much needed relief in the form of the Bengals 22nd ranked pass defense. The Cincinnati secondary has progressively gotten worse over the course of the season and their pass rush is almost non existent. Considering Campbell’s lackluster campaign to this point, you probably shouldn’t expect monster numbers against anyone, but this match up bodes well for a solid game.

13. Chad Pennington (MIA) – A match up against a weak San Francisco pass defense is favorable, but Pennington very rarely puts up numbers that make you say wow against anyone. He should be decent given the quality of the opposition, and the fact that it is a home game does not hurt, but don’t expect anything out of the ordinary.

14. Jeff Garcia (TB) – He is coming off by far his best fantasy effort of the season torching Carolina on Monday night. A match up against the Falcons 23rd ranked pass defense appears promising as well. That said, you probably shouldn’t expect him to repeat the lofty numbers of week 14. He should put up decent numbers, but we wouldn’t suggest pinning your hopes for a fantasy championship on the arm of Garcia. UPDATE: Garcia has been deactivated for week 15. Brian Griese will start in his place. Check injury report: calf (out - do not use)

15. Matt Ryan (ATL) – The last time he faced Tampa in week 2, Ryan was absolutely terrible, completing just 13 of 33 passes for 158 yards, no TD’s, and 2 interceptions. Needless to say, he has come a very long way since week 2, and he will certainly fare better this time around. Unfortunately, that isn’t saying much and Ryan makes for a risky start against a bitter Buccaneers defense. This might be a good week to look at a safer option.

16. Brett Favre (NYJ) – After a promising start to his ’08 campaign, Favre’s fantasy numbers have been erratic and for the most part, very disappointing. He is capable of breaking out any week, but there is very little reason to believe that it’s going to happen in week 15 against Buffalo. He has failed to throw a single TD pass in his last 2 games while throwing 2 interceptions. Favre had similar results the last time he faced the Bills in week 9, throwing 0 TD passes and a pick. Hopefully, he can get on track this week, but we just don’t see it happening, at least not in a big way.

17. Matt Schaub (HOU) – In spite of Schaub’s huge week 14 performance against Green Bay, you might be best served leaving him on the bench in week 15. Scahub has been absolutely terrible in his career against the Titans. He was knocked out very early in both games against Tennessee last season and his lone meeting against them this season produced disastrous results. In that game, Schaub only completed 17 of 37 pass attempts for 188 yards, 0 TD’s and 3 interceptions. He was also sacked 3 times and fumbled twice in that match up. There is always the off chance that he can reverse his fortunes against Tennessee this time around. He is certainly talented enough to do so and this offense has really been clicking, but the risk is high to say the least.

18. Seneca Wallace (SEA) – Believe it or not, Wallace has decent potential for week 15. He coming off of a big 3 TD performance last week against New England, and you might be surprised to know that he has thrown for 7 TD’s and 0 interceptions in his last 4 starts. While he is playing well and a week 15 match up against St. Louis is extremely favorable, Wallace probably isn’t the guy you want to rely on to get you to the next round of the fantasy playoffs. Check injury report: hamstring

19. Ben Roethlisberger (PIT) – He has picked up the pace in recent weeks, but a match up against the Ravens 2nd ranked pass defense in Baltimore is less than favorable. The Ravens give up just 176 passing yards per game and lead the NFL with 22 interceptions. The last time these two teams met in Pittsburgh in week 4, Roethlisberger threw for 191 yards, 1 TD, and 1 interception. There is no reason to believe that he will fare any better this time around on the road.

20. Kerry Collins (TEN) – In a run heavy offense, Collins doesn’t offer a great deal of fantasy value most weeks, but he could do some damage against a Houston secondary that has allowed 20 passing TD’s already this season. While the Titans will probably elect to run the ball as usual, we would not be surprised if Collins produced decent numbers with this match up. At the same time, he probably isn’t the guy you want to entrust with a potential fantasy championship on the line.

* Drew Brees and Kyle Orton are not recognized in week 15 QB rankings. For info on those players, please check Thursday Night Advice NO @ CHI at the top right of the home page.

Fantasy Football Week 15 Running Back Rankings

Fantasy Football Week 15 Running Back Rankings
1. Brian Westbrook (PHI) – Following back to back monster efforts, it’s fairly safe to say that Westbrook has officially reclaimed his elite fantasy status. We fully expect him to chew up and spit out a soft Cleveland run defense in week 15. The Browns rank 28th in the NFL against the run giving up close to 150 rushing yards per game. Anything short of a huge fantasy effort would be a disappointment with this match up. Check injury report: ankle, knee

2. DeAngelo Williams (CAR) – He now has now scored at least 1 TD in his last 7 games with 12 total during that span. Williams is currently the hottest and most consistently productive player in all of fantasy football. He should continue the trend in week 15 with a very promising match up against Denver at home. The Broncos rank just 26th in the NFL against the run allowing almost 140 rushing yards per game. In addition, they have allowed 17 TD’s on the ground through 13 games. We see no reason why Williams can not run all over this defense.

3. Adrian Peterson (MIN) – After a mildly disappointing week 14 performance against Detroit, Peterson will take the show on the road to Arizona this week. Surprisingly, the Cardinals are actually very solid against the run. They give up less than 100 rushing yards per game on average and have allowed only 10 rushing TD’s through 13 games. We aren’t completely knocked out by this match up, but the Vikings are fighting for a playoff spot, so we expect Peterson will rise to the occasion. As always, he is a must start.

4. Thomas Jones (NYJ) – He only managed 56 rushing yards against the Niners last week, but he was able to sustain his TD streak which now sits at 7 consecutive games with at least 1 score. The fact that he only had 56 rushing yards last week isn’t really much cause for concern. The bigger issue is that he only had 10 carries, so all in all, 56 yards is very solid (5.6 YPC). If the Jets are going to be successful, they should know by now that they have to get Jones the football. We believe that will happen in week 15 against a decent, but not great, Buffalo run defense. Jones should fare extremely well in this match up at home. He totaled 107 yards and a TD the last time he faced the Bills in week 9.

5. Chris Johnson (TEN) – In his last 2 contests, Johnson has rushed for 261 yards and 3 TD’s. Granted, the competition wasn’t very stiff against the likes of Detroit and Cleveland, but impressive none the less. Luckily, Johnson will get his third favorable match up in a row in week 15 against Houston’s 24th ranked run defense. The Texans have given up 17 rushing TD’s in 13 games and allow close to 130 rushing yards per game. If the playoff clinching Titans do not decide to shut Johnson down prematurely, he should be in for yet another great game.

6. LaDainian Tomlinson (SD) – While he has obviously lost a step, Tomlinson is still capable of putting up great numbers with the right match up. Fortunately, week 15 against Kansas City’s 31st ranked run defense provides just that. The Chiefs have been terrible against the run all season giving up 162 yards per game and allowing 21 TD’s via the ground through 13 games. We realize his numbers weren’t spectacular the last time he faced this defense, but we can’t imagine him struggling against the Chiefs twice in one season under any circumstance.

7. Clinton Portis (WAS) – After suffering multiple injuries and facing very poor match ups the last 2 weeks, Portis’ fantasy value has dropped significantly. The good news is that he appears to be on the mend to some extent and week 15 provides a very promising match up against the Bengals. Cincinnati currently ranks 23rd in the NFL against the run and has allowed 15 rushing TD’s through 13 games. If Portis is anywhere in the ballpark of being healthy, he should run all over this defense. We really like his chances to get back on track this week, but you should continue to monitor his health leading up to Sunday to be on the safe side. Portis is not currently listed on the Redskins injury report.

8. Maurice Jones-Drew (JAX) – Now that Fred Taylor is out for the season with a thumb injury, we will finally get to see what Jones-Drew can do as a feature back, and the timing couldn’t be better. Week 15 provides an extremely favorable match up against Green Bay’s 27th ranked run defense at home. The Packers have been pretty bad against the run all season, but they have been especially terrible of late giving up 8 rushing TD’s in their last 3 contests. While Green Bay will surely focus in on stopping Jones-Drew with the Jags providing little else on offense, but we still don’t think they will stop him.

9. Steven Jackson (STL) – He hasn’t been dominant since returning from injury, but Jackson has been fairly solid, especially considering his supporting cast has officially returned to non existent status. That said, we really like his chances for a great week 15 against Seattle. The Seahawks numbers against the run are very mediocre and they would probably be worse if opposing teams didn’t favor throwing the ball against their horrific pass defense. The good news is that the Rams do not have much of a passing game, so they have little choice but to go to Jackson early and often. Even better, what passing game the Rams do have left, revolves mostly around Jackson. So the way we see it, Jackson should be productive on the ground and through the air. Start him!

10. Michael Turner (ATL) – The good news regarding his week 15 match up is that he will face a Tampa Bay run defense that was absolutely torched last week by Carolina. The bad news regarding his week 15 match is that he will be facing a very angry Tampa Bay run defense looking for redemption. At this point, Turner is basically unbenchable ranking 2nd in the NFL in rushing yards and tied for 1st in rushing TD’s. He is also every bit as capable of running wild on this defense as the Carolina backs. That said, this match up is not without risk.

11. Dominic Rhodes (IND) – As it stands now, Joseph Addai looks very doubtful to play Sunday against the Lions which will open the door for the ever capable Rhodes to fill in. If Rhodes does in fact get the start, he could be in for a monster fantasy day against the worst run defense in the NFL. In 13 games, Detroit has allowed a whopping 2256 rushing yards and 23 TD’s. It also bodes well that the Colts have a very good passing attack. Even when the Lions face poor passing attacks and stack the box against their RB’s (as they did against the Vikings last week), they still struggle in containment. They will not be able to do that against Indianapolis and Rhodes should have a field day. Continue to monitor Addai’s health closely because Rhodes fantasy value goes down significantly if he is not the starter. UPDATE: Rhodes will start in place of Joseph Addai in week 15.

12. Ryan Grant (GB) – After a pair of sub par efforts, Grant was able to get back on track in week 14 against Houston rushing for 104 yards and a score. He should stay on track with a promising week 15 match up against Jacksonville’s mediocre run defense. In their last 3 games, the Jaguars have allowed 335 rushing yards and 4 rushing TD’s and show no sign of improving. You probably shouldn’t expect monster numbers from Grant this week, but he should be very solid.

13. Steve Slaton (HOU) – In his last 4 games, Slaton has managed to find pay dirt 3 times while averaging 143 total yards per game. While he will have his work cut out for him against a solid 7th ranked Tennessee run defense in week 15, we still like his chances for a productive game at home. Slaton already set a promising precedent for this match up by rushing for 116 yards and a TD the last time he faced the Titans back in week 3.

14. Derrick Ward (NYG) – In all likelihood, Ward will be the Giants starting RB for week 15 with Brandon Jacobs nursing yet another knee injury. If Ward gets the start, he may still have to give up some carries to Ahmad Bradshaw, but we still like his chances for a solid game in Dallas. The Cowboys are fairly solid against the run, but Ward has been excellent in mop up duty this season and proved to be even better as a feature back last year when Jacobs was out. In fact, Ward totaled 89 yards and a TD in limited action against this same Cowboys defense just a few short weeks ago and he totaled 106 yards and a TD in a back up role against them last season. UPDATE: Ward will start in place of the injured Brandon Jacobs on Sunday night.

15. LenDale White (TEN) – In addition to his usual ability to get into the end zone, White has proven to be equally productive in the yardage department the last 2 weeks averaging 103 ground yards per game over that span. White has been a force near the goal line this season and his 14 rushing TD’s currently tie him for most in the NFL with Michael Turner. A week 15 match up against a very generous Houston run defense that has allowed 17 rushing TD’s in 13 games appears very favorable for White to continue the trend. In a week 3 meeting against Houston, he rushed for 49 yards and hit pay dirt, not once, but twice in that match up. In addition, White has at least 1 TD in each of his last 3 games against the Texans. He is nursing a knee injury so be sure to monitor his status closely. Check injury report: knee (active and expected to play in week 15)

16. Sammy Morris (NE) – he hasn’t been lighting it up since returning from a knee injury, but Morris has managed to find the end zone in each of his last 2 games, and a week 15 match up against Oakland is his most promising since his return. The raiders are giving up close to 160 rushing yards per game and have allowed 18 rushing TD’s on the season. This isn’t a slam dunk for Morris, considering he will share carries with Kevin Faulk, but the potential for a big game is certainly there.

17. Jonathan Stewart (CAR) – What a difference a week can make. Before torching Tampa Bay on Monday night for 115 rushing yards and 2 TD’s, he had basically been written off by most fantasy owners. Now that he is back on track, Stewart makes for a fairly solid RB2 against Denver in week 15. The Broncos sport one of the worst run defenses in the NFL giving up 140 rushing yards per game and allowing 17 TD’s via the ground through 13 games. If given ample opportunity, and we believe he will after last week, Stewart should produce solid numbers with this match up. However, you should keep in mind that he is still limited to some extent playing behind the red hot DeAngelo Williams.

18. Ronnie Brown (MIA) – After several underwhelming performances of late, it is somewhat difficult to expect Brown to run wild on anyone. That said, it is not out of the realm of possibilities and he is very capable of solid production against anyone. A week 15 match up against San Francisco’s 14th ranked run defense is not extremely favorable, but it isn’t bad either. Brown makes for a decent RB 2 at home against the Niners.

19. Kevin Smith (DET) – It is always difficult to have really high hopes for Smith playing on such a poor team, but we actually like his chances for a solid game this week against the Colts. Indianapolis ranks just 25th in the NFL against the run giving up 130 rushing yards per game. They have also allowed 15 rushing TD’s in 13 games. Smith is never a failsafe fantasy play due to his lack of a supporting cast, but he is very capable in his own right, and the match up bodes well. Check injury report: ankle (listed as active for week 15)

20. Larry Johnson (KC) – After rushing for just 36 yards on 11 carries against a porous Denver run defense last week, it’s hard to get too excited about a week 15 match up against a solid San Diego run D. That said, Johnson has a good track record against the Chargers and he is capable of putting up decent numbers if he gets enough touches.

21. Marshawn Lynch (BUF) – He is coming off of his worst fantasy effort of the season rushing for just 31 yards on 13 carries against Miami. Unfortunately, Lynch’s chances for a big rebound in week 15 against the Jets appear bleak to say the least. The Jets currently boast the NFL’s 4th best defense against the run giving up just 84 yards per game and they are also fairly stingy near the goal line allowing just 8 rushing TD’s in 13 games. While Lynch managed a respectable 52 receiving yards on 3 catches against them back in week 9, they completely shut him down on the ground with just 16 rushing yards on 9 carries. Lynch is too talented to put up such terrible numbers in back to back weeks and he should fare better this time around against the Jets, but don’t count on it.

22. Le’Ron McClain (BAL) – He has been extremely solid since taking over a feature role in the Ravens backfield. The bad news is that McClain will face his biggest challenge yet since taking over that feature role when he takes on the top ranked Pittsburgh run defense in week 15. The good news is that he has already proven that he can run against this defense. McClain totaled 89 yards and a TD against the Steelers in Pittsburgh back in week 4. This time he gets them at home, but he will still have a tough row to hoe.

23. Justin Fargas (OAK) – He is pretty much hit or miss these days, but Fargas is pretty much the only legitimate weapon that the Raiders have in their arsenal. A week 15 match up against a middle of the road New England run defense is not extremely favorable, but the Pats are pretty beat up on defense, and Fargas has the potential for a solid game.

24. Warrick Dunn (TB) – He doesn’t have monster potential this week, but you could probably do worse. The good news is that Dunn will likely have extra motivation facing his former team this week and that typically translates into a productive performance. The Falcons rank just 22nd against the run and Dunn totaled 70 yards and a TD the last time he faced them. He does lose some value with Cadillac Williams expected to receive the goal line carries.

25. Marion Barber (DAL) – He is still very questionable for Sunday night with a toe injury, and even if he does play, we can’t foresee Barber getting a full compliment of carries. In addition, the toe injury is very likely to hamper his ability to make cuts and play at a top flight level. On top of that, he will be facing the Giants top 5 run defense, a match up that doesn’t bode extremely well even if Barber was at 100%. Barber only managed 54 rushing yards against them in week 9 when he was at full strength. If he is playing, it is extremely difficult to bench him in fantasy, but it seems to us that the risk far outweighs the potential reward. Check injury report: toe (game time decision)

26. Maurice Morris (SEA) – He could be the sleeper of the week facing off against St. Louis’ 29th ranked run defense. The Rams are horrible against the run giving up 154 rushing yards per game and allowing 22 TD’s via the ground in 13 games. If Morris is given a feature role, he could do some real damage against this defense. The problem is that he may not be the feature back with Julius Jones expected back and goal line touches will likely go to T.J. Duckett.

27. Tatum Bell (DEN) – He looked sharp filling in for the injured Peyton Hillis last week, but then again, what RB doesn’t look sharp against Kansas City. Regardless, Bell has proven to be a quality fantasy back in the past and he could have value once again. He is capable of decent numbers against a middle of the road Carolina run defense.

28. Tim Hightower (ARI) – He will certainly prove useful if the Cardinals can get him into a goal line situation, but he has little fantasy value otherwise against Minnesota’s 2nd ranked run defense.

29. Willie Parker (PIT) – He has been extremely quiet of late and the possibilities of him having a break out game against Baltimore’s 3rd ranked run defense on the road are slim. Parker can be dangerous, but a match up on the road against a Raven’s defense that he has never had much success against looks bleak.

30. Tashard Choice (DAL) – With Marion Barber’s status still up in the air, there is still a chance that Choice could get the start. At the very least, we believe he will see a significant number of touches. Choice was very impressive against Pittsburgh’s top ranked run defense last week, but he will once again have his work cut out for him against a great Giants run defense in week 15. Be sure to monitor Marion Barber’s status if you plan on using Choice.

31. Carnell “Cadillac” Williams (TB) – He hasn’t shown much potential in the yardage department yet, but he has not forgotten how to get into the end zone. He should get the goal line touches against an Atlanta run D that has allowed 15 rushing TD’s on the season.

32. DeShaun Foster (SF) – Considering that Frank Gore was on crutches Wednesday, we seriously doubt he will play in week 15. Foster will fill in, but expectations should not be high against a solid Miami run defense. Be sure to monitor Frank Gore’s status if you have plans to use Foster. UPDATE: Foster will startin place of the injured Frank Gore this week. Foster is not highly recommended for fantasy play.

33. Jamal Lewis (CLE) – He should fare better than the 7 yards on 7 carries that he accumulated last week, but you probably can’t expect much against a great Eagles run defense on the road.

34. Kevin Faulk (NE) – The potential for a solid fantasy effort is there against a really bad Oakland run defense, especially in PPR leagues, but Faulk is never a safe bet for more than a few carries.

35. Ricky Williams (MIA) – The match up against San Francisco isn’t terrible, but Williams hasn’t shown much against anyone lately.

36. Darren Sproles (SD) – He could do some real damage against a terrible Chiefs run defense, even in a limited role, but you can never be sure just how limited that role will be.

37. Leon Washington (NYJ) – He has the tools to put up numbers against Buffalo. Unfortunately, he may not get the touches to do it.

38. Chester Taylor (MIN) – He has a rushing TD in each of his last 3 games, but it will be tough to find pay dirt against a Cardinals run defense that has only allowed 10 TD’s on the ground all season.

39. Cedric Benson (CIN) – We don’t see him doing much against the Redskins 10th ranked run defense.

40. Mewelde Moore (PIT) – A week 15 match up against Baltimore’s 3rd ranked run defense holds little promise for Moore in a back up role.

* RB’s that participated in Thursday night’s New Orleans @ Chicago game are not represented in week 15 RB rankings. For info on those players, please check Thursday night advice NO @ CHI in the top right corner of our home page.

WEEK 15 QB RANKINGS

1. Tom Brady (NE) – There is not a better fantasy QB out there. Start him and hope the weather cooperates!
2. Drew Brees (NO) – He has thrown 8 TD’s and only 1 interception in his last 3 games. Brees is on fire once again, and a struggling 24th ranked Arizona pass defense that has allowed 21 passing TD’s this season will not be able to contain him. Brees is a must start.
3. Tony Romo (DAL) – In week 9 at Philadelphia, Romo completed 20 of 25 passes for 324 yards, 3 TD’s and 1 interception. He could surpass those numbers against the Eagles at home in week 15.Romo is a no brainer for your starting line up.
4. Peyton Manning (IND) – In his last 3 games, Manning has thrown 11 TD passes and only 2 interceptions. He is looking at a tough match up on the road this week against Oakland’s 5th ranked pass defense, but he is back on track, and should supply fantasy owners with a great effort. You can not afford to have him off your starting roster.
5. Brett Favre (GB) – After a solid week 14 performance, Favre appears to have no ill effects from his injured elbow and shoulder. He could be in line for a huge week15 against a mediocre Rams pass defense.
6. Kurt Warner (ARI) – He throws far too many interceptions, but he usually makes up for it with stellar yardage and TD totals. Warner should excel this week against the Saints 29th ranked pass defense. New Orleans has allowed 23 passing TD’s this season, only 3 other teams have allowed more. Only 5 teams have fewer interceptions than the Saints. Warner is a must start this week.
7. Derek Anderson (CLE) – He has been a pleasant surprise all season, but he has been exceptionably good at home. In week 15, Anderson will face the 28th ranked pass defense of the Buffalo Bills. He should be able to continue his successful run at home without difficulty.
8. Matt Hasselbeck (SEA) – He absolutely toasted the Arizona secondary last week throwing for 272 yards and 4 TD’s. This week he will face Carolina’s 12th ranked pass defense. While that ranking is fairly solid, the Panthers were torched by the Jags last week, and have allowed 10 TD passes in their last 5 games. Hasselbeck should stay hot in week 15.
9. Jeff Garcia (TB) – He should be back in the starting line up this week, and this should prove to be a great week for him to be there. Garcia does not typically put up monster numbers, but this week could be different. He faces an Atlanta pass defense that ranks 20th with a bullet pointing downward. The Falcons have been torched through the air in their last 3 games, and they are a team in disarray after losing head coach Bobby Petrino earlier this week. We like Garcia’s chances for a big game.
10. Marc Bulger (STL) – He has been cleared to play, and will start for the Rams in week 15. He has had a roller coaster season with more dips than climbs, but he has been solid at home which is where he will be this week. Bulger will face a solid but vulnerable Green Bay pass defense. They give up a lot of big plays in the passing game, but they also have a fierce pass rush that breeds sacks and turnovers. Bulger is a risky, yet capable week 15 starting option.
11. Ben Roethlisberger (PIT) – Roethlisberger has seen his fantasy stat lines go from great to mediocre in recent weeks, but most of that can be attributed to either bad weather or poor match ups. This week he will face the Jaguars 27th ranked pass defense, but that ranking is somewhat deceiving. This will be a tough game, and the weather is not expected to be favorable. Roethlisberger should bounce back with moderate success in week 15. He is not exactly a safe start, but you could do much worse. (Check injury report: shoulder)
12. Carson Palmer (CIN) – For whatever reason, Palmer has been horrible in recent weeks. In his last 2 games, he has thrown for a combined 372 yards (186 ypg), no TD’s and 2 interceptions. Palmer is a very talented QB, and typically, a very reliable fantasy option, but until he proves otherwise; he should be considered a risky start, even against a very average 49er pass defense. Hopefully he can turn it around in week 15.
13. David Garrard (JAC) – He continues to produce solid, efficient, and consistent numbers on a weekly basis. Typically, Garrard is a great fantasy starting option, but this week, he can only be considered decent at best. He will face the Steelers top ranked defense on the road, and the weather report is calling for cold and snow, not exactly optimal conditions for a warm weather QB. He has shocked and surprised all season, but the circumstances surrounding this week’s game could prove to be too much for him to overcome.
14. Trent Edwards (BUF) – While he had a modest completion and yardage total last week, Edwards did throw 4 TD passes. He appears to be the QB of the future for the Bills, and has a ton of upside as far as fantasy is concerned. Edwards is a risky start given his rookie status, and the fact that he will be on the road, but he is playing great, and a match up against Cleveland bodes well for him. He could be a nice sneaky start for week 15.
15. Phillip Rivers (SD) – You never know what you are going to get with Rivers, but he does have a great match up working in his favor. He will face the Lions 31st ranked pass defense. Detroit has allowed 26 passing TD’s on the season. Only the Browns have allowed more. Rivers is erratic, and a liability against any opponent, but he has a good shot at success this week. (Check injury report: knee)
16. Jon Kitna (DET) – This week he will face the Chargers 13th ranked pass defense. San Diego leads the NFL with 22 interceptions, and no QB is more prone to interceptions than Kitna. On the positive side, San Diego will be without top defender Shawne Merriman this week which should ease the burden a bit. Kitna is too much of a wild card to consider as a reliable start this week, but he should prove to be decent.
17. Donovan McNabb (PHI) – He is obviously capable, and a match up against Dallas’ 19th ranked pass defense looks promising on paper, but it will be a tough week for McNabb. The Cowboys have only allowed 1 passing TD in their last 3 games; they have one of the best pass rushes in the league, and rank 4th in the NFL with 18 interceptions. Do not expect anything more than an average performance from McNabb in week 15.
18. Eli Manning (NYG) – He looked better last week, but he is still not where he needs to be. He will face a vulnerable Redskins pass defense this week, but he has never had much in the way of success against them. Manning makes for a very shaky start in week 15.
19. Vince Young (TEN) –He continues to disappoint, and has now thrown 16 interceptions to only 7 TD’s this season. He faces a Kansas City defense that ranks 9th against the pass, but the Chiefs are pretty beat up, and have struggled in recent weeks. We like V.Y.’s chances for a rebound this week, but he is still far too risky, especially if you are trying to make a playoff run. Keep him on the bench unless you a really desperate.
20. Tarvaris Jackson (MIN) – We have trashed Jackson all season, but maybe we jumped the gun on this guy. We reluctantly have to take back some of the horrible comments we have made about him throughout the season. We still say he sucks as a fantasy QB, but he does win games, and is starting to show some positive consistency. Jackson has a good match up against the Bears in week 15, but he is not putting up the kind of numbers that translate well in fantasy.
21. Todd Collins (WAS)
22. Kyle Orton (CHI)
23. Kyle Boller (BAL)
24. Chris Redman (ATL)
25. Vinny Testaverde (CAR)
26. Kellen Clemens (NYJ)
27. Brodie Croyle (KC)
28. Cleo Lemon (MIA)
29. Josh McCown (OAK)
30. Shaun Hill (SF)

WEEK 15 RB RANKINGS

1. LaDainian Tomlinson (SD) – In his last 2 games, Tomlinson has accumulated 323 rushing yards and 4 TD’s. He is a must start against a struggling Lions run defense.
2. Joseph Addai (IND) – While Addai has struggled to find yards on the ground in recent weeks, he has maintained his ability to find the end zone with 5 TD’s in his last 4 games. Look for him to get the ground game going this week against the Raiders 31st ranked run defense. Addai should also have little trouble finding pay dirt as Oakland leads the NFL in rushing TD’s allowed. He should be golden in week 15.
3. Brian Westbrook (PHI) – This week’s match up against Dallas’ 4th ranked run defense looks tough for Westbrook on paper, but Westbrook usually steps up against them, and the Cowboys have allowed 276 rushing yards and 5 rushing TD’s in their last 2 games. In a week 9 meeting against them, Westbrook rushed for 65 yards and a TD, and caught 14 passes for 90 yards. He will have his work cut out for him, but Westbrook should be more than up to the challenge. (Check injury report: knee)
4. Ryan Grant (GB) – He continues to blow through opposing defenses with ease. In his last 5 games, Grant has accumulated 621 total yards and 5 TD’s. Grant should carve up the Rams 21st ranked run defense with ease.
5. Adrian Peterson (MIN) – He continues to shock and surprise, only last week, it was of the negative variety. Peterson only managed 3 yards on 14 carries in what looked to be a great match up. In week 15, Peterson will face the 24th ranked run defense of the Bears. In week 6, he rushed for 224 yards and 3 TD’s against them. You should consider last week a fluke, and Peterson should bounce back nicely against Chicago at home on Monday night.
6. Willis McGahee (BUF) – After 7 straight weeks with a TD, McGahee had a bit of a let down against the Colts last week. He should easily get back on track in week 15 against a Miami defense that ranks last in the NFL in stopping the run.
7. Earnest Graham (TB) – Graham has turned into one of the top fantasy RB’s of the ’07 season. He has now found the end zone at least once in 5 straight games. He should be able to make it 6 in a row this week against a Falcons team in turmoil. Atlanta ranks a pathetic 27th in stopping the run, and Graham rushed for 102 yards and 1 TD against them in week 11. Graham is a must start.
8. Jamal Lewis (CLE) – He has been on fire in recent weeks scoring at least 1 TD in 4 consecutive games. Lewis has now scored a total of 9 TD’s in his last 6 contests. He should be able to continue his hot streak this week against a mediocre Bills run D.
9. Marshawn Lynch (BUF) – After missing 3 weeks with a bad ankle, Lynch returned in week 14 with a nice 107 yard rushing effort. He should be able to keep the momentum rolling into week 15 when he will the Browns 28th ranked run defense. If Lynch gets enough carries, he should have a nice day.
10. Steven Jackson (STL) – He will have a tough test in front of him this week against the Packers. Green Bay ranks a solid 12th against the run, but more importantly, they have only allowed 4 rushing TD’s all season. Jackson is a very capable fantasy RB, and a big game is never out of the question for someone of his talent, but this one is a bit scary.
11. Marion Barber (DAL) – He has been streaky this season, but luckily, his current streak is of the hot variety. Barber has now scored 4 TD’s in his last 3 games, including 3 last week. He also had an impressive 10 receptions for 61 yards in week 14. This week he will face a tough, but manageable Eagles run defense. In week 9, Barber accumulated 106 total yards and a TD against Philadelphia.
12. LenDale White (TEN) – After a stretch of horrible games, White appears to be back on track. In his last 2 contests, White has totaled 204 yards with 2 TD’s. This week he will face a beat up and struggling Kansas City defense that ranks 25th against the run, and has now allowed 5 rushing TD’s in their last 3 games. White is a solid week 15 starting option if there are no further issues with a sore knee. (Check injury report: knee)
13. Rudi Johnson (CIN) – Johnson’s late season surge has put him back on the fantasy map. He has now scored a TD in 3 straight games. This week he will face the 26th ranked run defense of the 49ers. While there are no guarantees that Johnson’s run of good fortune will continue, the match up bodes well for him.
14. Frank Gore (SF) – While Gore has been an effective tool in the 49er passing game in recent weeks, he does not get the number of carries necessary for him to be effective on the ground. If San Francisco can hang with the Bengals in the scoring department, Gore could have a huge day, but like most weeks, that probably won’t happen. Under any circumstance, Gore should put up decent numbers as a receiver out of the backfield, and a TD is not out of the question. The potential is there, but they must get him the ball. (Check injury report: ankle)
15. Brandon Jacobs (NYG) – He did not have a great week 14 return from a hamstring injury, but Jacobs should be in much better shape this week against the Redskins. It will be a tough match up, but a healthy Jacobs usually runs over any and all opponents. He may not bounce back from his mediocre outing in a huge way, but Jacobs should put up solid numbers.
16. Aaron Stecker (NO) – He put together a solid 100 yard rushing effort in his first game carrying the load for the Saints. This week he will face an up and down Arizona run defense at home. There are no guarantees, but he has decent value in week 15.
17. Willie Parker (PIT) – The negative aspect of starting a guy like Parker is his inability to score TD’s on a consistent basis. He typically puts up great yardage totals, but in most leagues, rushing yards are given secondary consideration compared to rushing TD’s in fantasy scoring. Parker is capable, but he will have to fight for yards against Jacksonville’s 5th ranked run defense.
18. Kevin Jones (DET) – He can be a very dangerous guy to start, but when he gets a reasonable number of carries, Jones typically comes up big. In week 15, he will face the 19th ranked San Diego run defense. The Chargers D is susceptible to giving up big plays in the run game, and they will be without their top defender this week, Shawne Merriman. Jones must get the ball at least 17 times to be effective, but the potential is there.
19. Chester Taylor (MIN) – The fact that Taylor has to make do with Adrian Peterson’s leftover carries makes him a risky start, but the numbers don’t lie and his numbers have been great. He has now scored a TD in his last 4 games, and has 6 total TD’s over that same span. Taylor may get scraps, but he definitely makes the most of them. He has a favorable match up against the Bears 24th ranked run defense.
20. Fred Taylor (JAX) – He has been pouring it on opposing defenses in recent weeks. Taylor has now posted 3 straight 100 + yard games in a row. He also has a TD in 2 out of those 3 games. He will have a very tough test this week in the form of the 2nd ranked run defense of the Steelers. Taylor is a capable fantasy RB, but you can probably expect the 100 yard game streak to end here. If you start him, lower your expectations this week.
21. Clinton Portis (WAS) – He has really struggled to find yards on the ground in recent weeks. Over his last 4 games, Portis is averaging a miserable 47.5 yards rushing per game. He was effective last week in the passing game, catching 6 passes for 86 yards. Portis will have his work cut out for him in week 15 against the Giants 7th ranked run defense. While ground yards will be hard to come by, Portis is always capable of hitting pay dirt any week. Consider him a risky start this week.
22. Edgerrin James (ARI) – He continues to struggle in the ground game averaging 68 yards per game in his last 6. James has also gone scoreless for 3 straight weeks. Life will not get any easier in week 15 against the Saints 8th ranked run defense. James is not a safe start this week.
23. Maurice Jones-Drew (JAX) – He has not fared well in recent weeks in the ground yardage department, but he does have 3 TD’s in his last 4 games. He will match up this week against Pittsburgh’s 2nd ranked run defense, so if you are planning on starting him, your best bet is to pray for a TD.
24. Justin Fargas (OAK) – After 2 huge rushing efforts in a row, Fargas was forced to leave last week’s Green Bay game early with a rib injury. Fargas will be back this week against the Colts. While Indy claims a pretty average run defense, Fargas may not be much of a factor against them, especially if the Colts jump out to a big lead as expected.
25. Shaun Alexander (SEA) – After a decent week 13 effort, Alexander fell back into obscurity in week 14. This week’s match up against Carolina’s 20th ranked run defense holds some promise, but Alexander has not shown that he can get the job done against anyone all season.
26. Adrian Peterson (CHI) – Peterson has not shown much since taking over the starting job, and should not be seriously considered for a week 15 start against Minnesota’s top ranked run defense.
27. Laurence Maroney (NE) – If you are trying to make a playoff run, Maroney is not a guy you want to start. He does not get enough carries, and TD’s have been few and far between for him this season. In spite of a good match up against the Jets, he is not worth the risk.
28. DeShaun Foster (CAR) – He continues to struggle, and is not worth much consideration in week 15 against Seattle.
29. Chris Brown (TEN) – He is capable of doing a lot with a little. While Brown will likely see his usual back up scraps, he has the ability to do some damage, especially against a weak and beat up Kansas City run defense. He won’t have a monster game by any means, but 40 or 50 yards and a TD is not out of the question for him.
30. Thomas Jones (NYJ) – He has little value this week against New England.
31. Jesse Chatman (MIA) – He should be back this week, but Chatman will likely be limited, and has little value against Baltimore’s 3rd ranked run defense. (Check injury report: ankle)
32. Julius Jones (DAL) – In a week 9 meeting with Philadelphia, Jones had 79 total yards and a TD. A repeat performance is not likely, and Jones has minimal value this time around.
33. Jerious Norwood (ATL) – He has the ability to do some damage against Tampa Bay, but a lack of touches limits his fantasy value.
34. Kolby Smith (KC) – Smith has proven to be a capable fantasy back, but with both starting OT’s out, he is pretty much useless against a very tough Titans run defense. Smith only rushed for 12 yards on 13 carries last week against Denver without his big boys leading the way. He is not worth starting, especially if you are trying to make a playoff run. (Check injury report: knee)
35. Maurice Morris (SEA) – With the return of Shaun Alexander, Morris does not get enough touches to be considered a worthy fantasy starter.

WEEK 15 WR RANKINGS

1. Randy Moss (NE) – He was able to bounce back in week 14 after 2 modest outings in a row by his standards. Moss hauled in 7 catches for 135 yards and 2 TD’s. You should consider Moss a lock against the Jets in week 15. In their first meeting this season, he caught 9 passes for 183 yards and a TD.
2. Terrell Owens (DAL) – After a long string of monster performances, T.O. apparently decided to take week 14 off. He only had 3 catches for 21 yards against a weak Detroit secondary. Expect Owens to bounce back in a big way against his former team, the Philadelphia Eagles. In a week 9 meeting with the Eagles, Owens pulled in 10 passes for 174 yards and a score.
3. Marques Colston (NO) – He has been money throughout much of the season, and he was money on Monday night, pulling in 9 passes for 92 yards and 2 TD’s. This week, Colston will face a Cardinals secondary that has been getting torched in recent weeks, and ranks 24th in the NFL. He should be money in week 15 and remains a must start.
4. Braylon Edwards (CLE) – He has now found pay dirt in his last 3 games, and has at least 1 TD in 6 of his last 8. Edwards is a stud fantasy WR, and should be started accordingly against the 28th ranked pass defense of the Buffalo Bills in week 15.
5. Larry Fitzgerald (ARI) – Despite a nagging groin injury, Fitzgerald managed to have a very solid week 14, catching 6 passes for 79 yards and a TD. The groin injury should be on the mend and less of an issue in week 15. Expect Fitzgerald to do big things against the 29th ranked pass defense of the Saints. Only 3 NFL defenses have allowed more passing TD’s. (Check injury report: groin)
6. Greg Jennings (GB) – He now has 11 TD’s in 11 starts this season, including 5 TD’s in his last 4 games. Those kind of numbers are impossible to argue against, and with a nice match up against St. Louis this week, Jennings is a must start.
7. Reggie Wayne (IND) – Wayne was able to score his 9th TD of the season in what was an otherwise lackluster week14 performance. He will again have his work cut out for him against a very solid 5th ranked Oakland pass defense. Wayne has found the end zone in his last 3 games, and should be great again in week 15 in spite of the difficult match up.
8. T.J. Houshmandzadeh (CIN) – There is no question that he has cooled off in recent weeks, but he is still fairly productive, and remains a must start. After a 3 week layoff, Houshmandzadeh has a good chance to return to the end zone against a very average 49er secondary. He leads the NFL this season with 96 receptions on the season.
9. Torry Holt (STL) – This guy is a star even with a 3rd string QB, and even better, he will likely have Marc Bulger back at QB this week. He will face a very average Green Bay pass defense, and even difficult match ups rarely faze the seasoned veteran. Holt is a very solid start for week 15.
10. Wes Welker (NE) – He can be hit or miss, but more often than not, he comes up big. Welker will face an improved, yet vulnerable, Jets pass defense in week 15. In a week 1 game against them, Welker pulled in 6 passes for 61 yards and a TD. A repeat performance or better is highly probable.
11. Joey Galloway (TB) – He will face an Atlanta secondary that was torched last week by New Orleans. Also, with all that has happened to the Falcons this past week, they will likely be vulnerable and down. In addition, Galloway will have starting QB Jeff Garcia back in the line up. Galloway should be in line for a great game.
12. Chad Johnson (CIN) – After a monster week 12, and a solid week 13, Johnson fell back into average mode with a 2 catch 60 yard performance last week. There is no guarantee that Ocho Cinco will find that week 12 magic this week, but with his talent, he could explode any week. He will face a very average 49er pass defense, and could be a difference maker for you in a playoff run.
13. Plaxico Burress (NYG) – While Burress has been up and down over the last few weeks, a big week 14 performance should be encouraging to fantasy owners. Hopefully his ankle is on the mend, and Burress can get back on track on a consistent basis once again. This week he will face the 23rd ranked pass defense of the Redskins. In a week 3 meeting with Washington, he had 5 catches for 86 yards and a TD. There is a slight risk in starting him this week, but last week was promising, and you probably can not afford to bench him.
14. Bobby Engram (SEA) – He does not put up super flashy numbers, but his consistency is unmatched by any fantasy WR. He has scored a TD in each of his last 2 games, and should continue to be a favorite red zone target for Matt Hasselbeck. In week 15, Engram will match up against a Carolina pass defense that has been decent for the most part, but they were flat out embarrassed last week against Jacksonville. Engram should put together another solid effort.
15. Hines Ward (PIT) – He was not exactly stellar last week with a 5 catch 39 yard performance against the Patriots, but Ward should bounce back this week against Jacksonville’s 27th ranked pass defense.
16. Deion Branch (SEA) – You probably can not expect a monster game from Branch this week, but he should definitely make an impact. He is targeted often, and is always a threat to find the end zone. The Carolina pass defense ranks 12th in the NFL, but they were humiliated by Jacksonville last week. Branch is a good start.
17. Lee Evans (BUF) – He is certainly risky any week, but he seems to have solid chemistry with QB Trent Edwards, and his big play ability bodes well for him against the weak secondary of the Browns. Evans could have a monster week 15, but a bust is not out of the question either. We like his chances, especially when you consider that Cleveland has allowed a league leading 27 TD’s through the air.
18. Bernard Berrian (CHI) – There are some question marks with Berrian this week, such as how will he react to Kyle Orton at QB?, but Berrian is playing well, and a match up against Minnesota’s NFL worst pass defense looks promising. In week 6, he pulled in 5 passes for 78 yards and a TD against the Vikings. He should make for a solid starting option.
19. Shaun McDonald (DET) – With Roy Williams out, it appears that McDonald is the new go to go in the Detroit passing game. He had 8 catches for 96 yards last week, and should be targeted early and often against a talented, but shaky, San Diego pass defense. McDonald could be this week’s big sleeper.
20. Roddy White (ATL) – He has been on fire in recent weeks with 19 catches for 325 yards and 3 TD’s in his last 3 games. He appears to have solid chemistry with new QB Chris Redman, and White should continue to be Redman’s go to target. On the negative side, White has never really played well against Tampa, and only had 4 catches for 28 yards against them in week 11. In addition, it is hard to say what effect the resignation of head coach Booby Petrino will have on White, and the Falcons offense. White should be considered risky, but very capable in week 15. (Check injury report: knee)
21. Donald Driver (GB) – While Greg Jennings has taken over the star role in the Packers passing attack, Driver remains a dangerous fantasy option any week. Driver is not making big plays lately, but he is still targeted more often than Jennings, and is capable of breaking out of his TD slump any week. He has a great shot against a very shaky St. Louis pass defense in week 15.
22. Steve Smith (CAR) – He continues to be targeted often, but has not been the explosive WR we are all accustomed to seeing. We know he has the ability to produce a monster game, but until he does so, it is hard to expect a great deal from him. He will face a vulnerable Seahawks pass defense in week 15.
23. Laveranues Coles (NYJ) – He continues to push through a painful ankle sprain and under the circumstances has played fairly well. He faces a tough New England pass defense this week, but Coles did have 7 catches for 59 yards and 2 TD’s against them in week 1. With the nagging ankle, it is probably a stretch to expect similar numbers this time around, but he should play through the pain, and solid numbers are very possible. (Check injury report: ankle)
24. Santonio Holmes (PIT) – Holmes’ ankle was obviously still an issue in week 14 as he was held to a limited number of reps. While the ankle should be better this week, it will probably not be 100%. It is unclear if he will again be limited, but to air on the side of caution, you should probably lessen expectations if you start him.
25. Anquan Boldin (ARI) – If Boldin is healthy enough to play and gets a full compliment of reps, he could be huge this week against a very soft Saints secondary. Unfortunately, the prospects of him playing, and playing a lot in week 15, appear slim at best. Keep tabs on his status heading into Sunday; Boldin could still have some value even in a limited role. (Check injury report: toe)
26. Derrick Mason (BAL) – He had an off week 14, but Mason should bounce back nicely against Miami. The Dolphins rank an impressive 3rd in the NFL against the pass, but they have been shaky as of late, and have allowed 21 passing TD’s on the season. You should be safe with Mason in your starting line up for week 15, especially in PPR leagues.
27. Nate Burleson (SEA) – No Seattle WR has benefited more than Burleson from the absence of the injured D.J. Hackett. In his last 2 games Burleson has 9 catches for 121 yards and 2 TD’s. He has become a favorite red zone target for Matt Hasselbeck, and also adds value as a return specialist. He can be risky, considering that he is the #3 WR for Seattle, and does not get the number of looks that Engram and Branch get.
28. Chris Chambers (SD) – He is a big play threat any week, but Chambers needs to be more involved in the Chargers game plan to make a substantial impact for fantasy owners. He has a great match up against the Lions 31st ranked pass defense, but they must get him the ball for him to take advantage of it. In addition, Detroit has allowed 26 passing TD’s this season. Only the Cleveland Browns have allowed more.
29. Calvin Johnson (DET) – Johnson is still considered a risky option due to his inconsistency, but with Roy Williams out, Johnson is seeing his number of looks increase. He is a super talent, and as his role in the Detroit offense increases, so should his numbers. Under the current circumstances, Johnson is capable of a monster game, but with the Lions unpredictable game plans of late, who knows when?
30. Jerricho Cotchery (NYJ) – Just as everyone thought he was finished for the year after having surgery on his finger, Cotchery came out of nowhere last week, posting one of his better games of the season with 6 catches for 119 yards. You should see him back on the field again this week, but do not expect a repeat performance against a tough Patriots secondary. Cotchery had 6 catches for 57 yards in a week 1 meeting with New England. (Check injury report: finger)
31. Isaac Bruce (STL) – We realize that Bruce was completely shut out last week, but for starters, he never plays well outdoors, and secondly, Bruce was at the mercy of a 3rd string QB. The good news is that he should have starting QB Marc Bulger back this week, and he will be back in the comfort of the Edward Jones Dome where he typically plays well. Bruce is not destined for a monster game against the Packers this week, but he should bounce back nicely from a humiliating week 14 shut out.
32. Reggie Williams (JAX) – He has now scored a TD in 4 of his last 6 games, and his role in the Jaguar offense has increased overall in the last 2 weeks. Williams will be in for a big test against the Steelers 2nd ranked pass defense this week, but he should have ample opportunity to continue his hot streak as Jacksonville’s top target.
33. Dwayne Bowe (KC) – Bowe has proven to be a capable fantasy WR, but he is losing value in a sputtering Chiefs offense. In week 15, he will face a tough Tennessee pass defense that ranks 8th in the NFL. The way things are going for Bowe and the Chiefs offense, you should keep expectations on the moderate side, and hope for a big play or two.
34. Patrick Crayton (DAL) – He continues to be a high risk-high reward fantasy option. He can go from huge numbers to non existent any given week with no reasonable explanation. Crayton is capable, but should be considered a dangerous start against an Eagles pass defense that completely shut him down back in week 9.
35. Anthony Gonzalez (IND) – He has come up huge in 2 of his last 3 games, but it is that game in between that should be of concern. Gonzalez has proven that he can be an explosive fantasy WR, but he has not done it enough to be considered reliable. He is a hit or miss option this week against Oakland. He could make your week, but he is also capable of killing it.
36. Santana Moss (WAS) – He is still not where he should be at this point in the season, but Moss could come to life with Todd Collins under center. He is a bit of a long shot, but he typically plays well against the Giants, and we like his chances.
37. Kevin Curtis (PHI) – While he is capable of coming up big any week, Curtis is equally capable of doing little. The Dallas secondary can be shaky at times, so he could bust loose with a huge game, but a modest effort is more likely. He had 5 catches for 51 yards against the Cowboys in week 9.
38. Jabar Gaffney (NE) – He has been a pleasant surprise in recent weeks, and has a TD in each of his last 3 games. Gaffney is definitely moving up Tom Brady’s favorites list, but he is still the #4 WR for the Patriots, and could disappear any week. He is hot, but he is also a very risky week 15 start.
39. Arnaz Battle (SF) – He continues to be the lone bright spot in an otherwise dismal 49er passing attack. Battle has now scored a TD in his last 3 games, but remains a risk with low reception and yardage totals. The match up bodes well for him to continue his TD streak, as the Bengals have allowed 24 passing TD’s this season, but it is difficult to find the end zone every week, and without that, he has little value.
40. Justin Gage (TEN) – He kind of fell off the Vince Young radar last week, but he should be back this week. Gage is a week 15 long shot, but he could provide solid numbers against a struggling KC defense.
41. Bryant Johnson (ARI) – If Anquan Boldin misses his second straight game, Johnson could have some real value this week against a bad New Orleans secondary. Otherwise, Johnson has little value. Check on Boldin’s status before putting Johnson on your starting roster this week.
42. Sidney Rice (MIN) – Rice cooled off a bit last week, but he has proven that he has the tools necessary to be a valuable fantasy WR any given week. He has a favorable match up against the Bears 26th ranked pass defense, but needs to show more consistency to be considered a reliable fantasy starter.
43. Jerry Porter (OAK) – He is not very dependable, and faces a tough match up against Indy this week, but he has found pay dirt for 2 straight weeks, and could be worth a shot.
44. Chris Henry (CIN) – He has not done much lately, but he is still a potentially dangerous fantasy option. A risky, but capable starting option.
45. Reggie Brown (PHI) – Brown has had the occasional nice game, but he is fairly inconsistent, and rarely puts up more than decent numbers. He will get you some points this week against Dallas, but it probably won’t be enough to seriously consider him beyond a fill in role.
46. Donte Stallworth (NE) – He has not completely fallen out of favor, but his numbers appear to be decreasing on a weekly basis, and 1 catch last week does not bode well for the rest of the season. Stallworth seems to be the forgotten man in Patriots offense, and Jabar Gaffney seems to have stepped into his role. He is capable of bouncing back against the Jets this week, but don’t bet on it.
47. Mike Furrey (DET) – He had a disappointing 2 catches for 15 yards last week. Expect him to play a bigger role and rebound this week against San Diego. A great effort is very possible, but you should keep expectations on the modest side.
48. David Patten (NO) – After falling off the fantasy radar completely for a few weeks, Patten reemerged in a big way in week 14 with 9 catches for 122 yards and 1 TD. He has a great match up against a struggling Cardinals pass defense in week 15, but is not a very dependable starting option.
49. Josh Reed (BUF) – While you should only consider Reed if you are in a tight spot, week 15 could be his time to shine. Reed has seen his role in the passing game increase over the last few weeks, and while he has not scored a TD this season, a match up against Cleveland could easily change that. The Browns have allowed 27 passing TD’s, more than any other team in the NFL. He may be worth a shot if you are in desperate need of a WR for the playoff run.
50. Mark Clayton (BAL) –He is coming off a nice 7 catch 90 yard effort last week. Clayton is a hit or miss prospect, but he is probably not worth the risk.
