7 Awesome Stats from NFL Week 12

Week 12 of the NFL season has nearly come and gone. Let's look back at 7 feats of statistical awesomeness.

1. Arizona’s BEANIE WELLS rushed for a franchise-record 228 yards and averaged 8.4 yards per carry and Tennessee’s CHRIS JOHNSON had 190 rushing yards with an 8.3-yard average. It marked the fifth time in NFL history in which two players rushed for at least 190 yards and averaged 8.0+ yards per carry on the same day.

The other four instances: December 16, 1956 (TOM WILSON and RICK CASARES), November 15, 1959 (BOBBY MITCHELL and JOHNNY OLSZEWSKI), October 14, 2007 (ADRIAN PETERSON and LADAINIAN TOMLINSON) and September 20, 2009 (FRANK GORE and Johnson).

Michigan Punter's Terror Face Is Awesome (GIF)

The look of sheer terror on Michigan Wolverines punter Will Hagerup’s face after he muffed a snap in the second half of the Wolverines 40-34 victory over Ohio State is absolutely awesome. He looks like he just accidentally dropped his girlfriend's puppy into a wood chipper.

1963 Grey Cup Old-Timers Fight On Stage (VIDEO)

Wow, this is the most exciting thing we've ever seen from Canadian football players. Seriously. During a celebration of the 1963 Grey Cup (basically Canada's version of the Super Bowl), Joe Kapp offered Angelo Musca a small bouquet of flowers (Canadians really are nice) on several occasions, an apology of sorts for his hard hit on Angelo Musca some 48 years ago during the Grey Cup. 74-year-old Musca eventually responded by hitting Kapp with his cane. So awesome! Enjoy the short, but heartfelt brawl that ensued.

Nickelback Responds to NFL Petition (VIDEO)

Nickelback Responds to NFL Petition (VIDEO)
Nickelback sits down to figure out why everyone in Detroit hates them in this Funny or Die video. In case you're out of the loop, a rather sizable online petition was created to stop the band from performing during the Thanksgiving Day Lions-Packers game. It didn't work, which we're OK with after seeing these guys completely mock themselves. BTW, it's a little NSFW, so keep the volume low.

The Thanksgiving Backyard Football Playbook

Every guy remembers getting together on Thanksgiving for a pick-up backyard football game with their cousins or buddies in the neighborhood.

To prepare you, we compiled the entire Thanksgiving Backyard Playbook into one post. Because no matter how many times you yell "Blue 47!" or "Red 32!" you will always run some variation of one of these plays.

The Packers are 10-0 for the third time in franchise history (1929 and 1962). Green Bay won the NFL Championship in both of those seasons.
